Wyandot, Inc. Facts Wyandot, Inc., a non-profit organization that serves the mental health needs of the community. Our organization serves the mental health needs of children, adolescents and adults of all ages; works with the visible and invisible mental health problems of the community; helps children whose lives are torn move from chaos to normalcy; responds to emergency and crisis situations in the community;assists the court system with children and adults requiring services; facilitates services for the mentally ill homeless to help them gain stability in their lives; andprovides services at multiple locations throughout the county. Wyandot, Inc. has served the people of Wyandotte County for more than 50 years, making a difference one individual person at a time. Wyandot, inc.serves 14,000 clients annually from all parts of Wyandotte County; was a first responder to the May 4, 2003 tornado emergency, providing services to 1,000 individuals between May 6 and July 7, 2003; was credited by the national American Red Cross and FEMA as providing “one of the best” mental health responses to a natural disaster; and has been cited by several organizations as an exemplary mental health Inc., serving more people with more programs and with fewer resources than other urban Center>s;was a first responder to the July 2, 2004 workplace shooting at ConAgra;recipient of Silver Achievement Award by the American Psychiatric Association in October 2006; CEO recipient of the Life Time Achievement Award for meritorious service from the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare in April 2006. Wyandot, Inc. is a valued community partner, collaborating and cooperating with local school districts to provide an extensive array of community based youth services; the Juvenile Justice Authority; the safety net clinics in Wyandotte County to provide mental health services in a primary care setting; program funded by The Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City; other community agencies providing human services.an annual budget of $24 million, Wyandot, Inc. has a significant economic impact in Wyandotte County,employing approximately 400 staff, 45 percent of whom live in Wyandotte County, are consumers in the community and pay property taxes; serving more local people with less proportional local financial support than any Center. in the state (of Wyandot,Inc.>s $24 million budget, 97.5% comes from external sources; 2.5% from the county mill levy).Wyandot, Inc. is committed to the people of Wyandotte County, building on our strengths and developing innovative programs and services to respond to the mental health care needs of the community; and continuing to “provide a continuum of quality services to enrich and strengthen the lives of Wyandotte County citizens”
