"I tend to treat this blog as my daily reflections on things from two perspectives. The first is the sociological perspective. As an aspiring sociologist/academic I try to keep my posts relevant to sociology in one way or another, but as you've realized (will realize), there is no single theme or field of focus. My sociological interests mainly lie in Economic Sociology, Political Sociology, Globalization, Social Networks, and Social Theory. Therefore, the posts in this blog will more likely be skewed towards these fields as well; however I try to stay current in as many different fields of sociology as I can so I'll try to cast my net of posts as wide as possible. However, if there's too much stuff on economic sociology here, it's just part of my habitus and you'll have to excuse me for it.

Another aim of this blog is to reflect the perspective of the PhD student. As a second year graduate student in UPenn Sociology PhD program, my aim is to provide a glimpse of my student life. Perhaps some of the stuff I write here can be useful for aspiring Grad Students planning to apply for a Graduate Degree, or those who are sharing the same status with me to get some ideas, or give back some feedback/advice to me. I'm always open to suggestions/feedback/critiques via the comment feature, which is available at the end of every post. Currently I enjoy keeping this blog as a personal one, but if there is anyone out there who is really enthusiastic to contribute to this blog for some odd reason, let me know and we could work something out."
